Welcome to Swan Cottage, a luxury 1 bedroom dog friendly holiday cottage with a secure private garden.
The cottage is nestled just outside the picturesque Norfolk village of Happisburgh, surrounded by arable farmland, and only a 10 minute walk to the village and beach.
With its origins dating back to 1701, the beautifully renovated cottage retains much of its original features and charm, including an owl window nestled in the bedroom beams. Whether you’re seeking a seaside retreat or to explore Norfolks stunning countryside, broads and coastal paths, this enviable location offers the best of all worlds!
Bedroom
The bedroom is designed for relaxation and to enjoy the breathtaking view. With the floor to ceiling windows, you can witness stunning sunrises over the cliffs from the luxurious king-size bed, or relax in the armchair with a fabulous view of Happisburgh’s iconic lighthouse.
The original beams and owl window are a reminder of the cottage’s 18th-century origins, and the solid wood floor has been lovingly restored.
Kitchen / Lounge
The cottage-style fitted kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker, 70/30 fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave.
There is a gorgeous breakfast bar, the perfect place to enjoy a meal or morning coffee. (check out the legs which we made from spare spindles from the staircase!).
The lounge and kitchen have a gorgeous tiled floor and non-slip rugs.
A beautiful bespoke wrought iron spiral staircase takes you upstairs to the bedroom and bathroom.
Bathroom
The modern bathroom has a large walk-in electric power shower, toilet, basin, mirror, shaving socket and towel radiator, plus plenty of storage for your toiletries.
Garden
The garden at Swan Cottage is an oasis of calm. There is a patio with a table and chairs where you can have a morning coffee in the sunshine or dine al-fresco. There are sun loungers and a garden bench that gets the afternoon sun.
The garden is completely secure with solid walls and fences (so say the owners of some of the most accomplished escape artists!) and, as we have no neighbours, it is perfect for reactive dogs. There is a warm dog shower for muddy or sandy paws!
Behind the rear gate is a washing line for your use.
Parking
Parking is through the gates in to the courtyard, which is solely for your use during your stay. The gate to the cottage is directly off the courtyard.
